The Yacht

A Nordlund, renewed from the keel up

Nordlund Boat Company of Tacoma, Washington is one of the last family-owned custom yacht builders in America, building boats largely on handshakes and repeat clients since 1958. Their pilothouse yachts have a reputation as some of the most robust and technically capable vessels to come out of the Pacific Northwest, and Following Sea II is a prime example.

What sets her apart is the extensive multi-million-dollar refit completed in 2025. This was not cosmetic. The engine room received new MAN engines and new gearboxes, the heart-of-the-boat items that dominate any survey. The interior and galley were updated, and the helm carries modern Garmin and Furuno electronics. The result is turnkey condition with the big-ticket work already done and paid for.

With roughly 1,000 nautical miles of range, Naiad underway stabilization, and a proven composite hull, she is ready for the Baja run, the islands, or the Inside Passage the day she changes hands.

Three staterooms sleep six guests, finished in the warm, honest joinery Nordlund is known for, with a teak aft deck and a boat deck carrying her tender.
