West Bay SonShip of British Columbia built its sterling reputation over five decades of Pacific Northwest boatbuilding, and the 78 is the yard at the height of its powers. Mahana pairs an exterior by Jack Sarin, one of the most respected naval architects in American motor yacht design, with an interior by Cary Vogel executed in warm, rift-cut American cherry.
At 119 gross tons she carries far more volume than her length suggests. The main deck flows from a large salon through the galley to the raised pilothouse in one connected, walkaround-friendly space, with big windows everywhere you look. The teak aft deck and expansive flybridge give her the outdoor living Southern California demands.
She is genuinely owner-operator friendly: bow and stern thrusters with wing stations put close-quarters handling at your fingertips, and underway stabilizers keep her settled in a seaway. Recent mechanical servicing was completed in 2026.
The full-beam owner’s stateroom sits amidships, the quietest and most stable point of the boat, with two guest staterooms and a captain’s cabin aft for crewed cruising when you want it.
